These hats are sized a little big. I wear a large in other hats but had to return the large in this one. The medium fits snug but right. I also ordered the reproofing cream. This hat is perfect for the rainy cold pacific NW. It keeps the rain off your face and neck with style. I encourage others to buy one as well, but I know they won't. They'll continue to wear stupid ball caps which allow the rain down the back of your coat, in your ears, the sun to burn your neck, and the rain to soak through to your head. Oh well.

good hat for the money, i bought this hat to use as a beater in bad weather. suits my needs. stampeed string is not leather like discription says. cheesey shoe string material with a plastic keeper. cant expect to much in this price range. good for the money.

I have been wearing Outback oilskin hats for over 10 years. I have to buy a new one every few years because I beat the crud out of the latest hats (and then a dog or two squishes it). I ride at a ranch that experiences serious rain for a third of the year. I couldn't do it without an Outback hat.

I highly recommend this hat, especially since it has been cold, wet, and windy here in the hill country of Texas. The hat repelled all rain, the drawstring kept it firmly on my head, and the wide brim protected the back of my neck and kept my eyes protected from the rain. It is also one fine looking hat. I'm a retired professional soldier and a disabled combat vet...that means I am picky about my gear and have high standards...I am very happy with my hat. Thanks.

My husband already has an oilskin duster, fully lined for those cold and blustery days. However, He did not have anything to protect his head. When I saw the Oilskin Hat on Shepler's website, I knew it was an ideal item to purchase for him for Christmas. His work requires him to be out in the elements all day, regardless of the weather, and the oilskin hat will allow rain & snow to just run off and keep his head nice and dry. I also ordered a nice Bone Band to add to the hat to dress it up, and can't wait to see his face when he opens up his present on Christmas morning!
The hat arrived on time as stated on the website, and correctly packaged in it's box. I am VERY pleased with this purchase from Shepler's! And one more thing---it was very cost efficient & has great workmanship on the hat!!! THANK YOU SHEPLER'S.

The hat is extremely well made - and I'm thankful that it fits as I have a large head and its always been a problem to find a hat. I was surprised and happy to find that the hat really retains its form- that wide brim is meant to keep rain off your SHOULDERS. When my wife saw what I bought she sent in an order for the same hat in black----------in a smaller size of course.

I love this hat and I love this style. I have been looking for this style hat for years and they are always $$$. This is a quality product being sold for $ . I took this hat out in the Arizona sun (112*) and I was protected and pleasantly surprised that my head stayed cool. Took it on my hike down into the Grand Canyon and it saved me again from the AZ heat. I am so happy with this purchase and plan to buy a Wool Crushable next. Oh and my ego says I look really awesome! Who doesn't want to be a Cowboy?

I have been told that my head shape makes it difficult to fit a hat. This hat fits comfortably and looks really nice. I always thought I wanted a cowboy hat, but the Aussie style was what I really wanted.

Going by the size chart that was given, I measured 23.5 inches that called for an extra large.It was way too big. I returned it for a large that I know will be perfect. Now speaking of perfect,this hat is just that. It is everything that I expected it to be. Dundee is not going to have anything on me! Most important is the service I recieved and the ease of exchange.These people really are what old time honesty and service is all about. Buy the hat ,YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!
