This is my second pair. The heel wore out pretty fast on the first pair so these will be for dress-up and Sunday-go-to-meeting.

It was with some trepidation that I took a chance on these boots. I was purchasing a pair of Lucchese Boots and saw these price reduced boots. As I would be waiting 11 weeks for the Lucchese Boots I thought why not try these while I wait. With Shepler's return policy how could I go wrong. I ordered the boots one size larger as recommended. They fit perfectly. The leather seemed rather dry and hard but with application of mink oil and then repeated applications of a quality neutral color boot polish, I find the boots soft, easy to wear, and a great looking boot for casual situations and work (construction). Buying cowboy boots made in India seems ironic to say the least but in this case it was a smart buy.

I usually buy boots with recognizable names in the $150 price range. I wear them with a sport coat to work and have always been happy with them. I decided I would try these boots. (How can you go wrong with a price around $60?) They are not of the quality of the boots I usually buy --but they are awfully close. And they cost about $100 less. I would certainly buy again. They do run 1/2 size small, as Sheplers says.

Was a little concerned ordering online. Used to live in Wichita so had always gone in the Sheplers and got the right boot.
Went to western store in KC tried on same boot but and then ordered through Sheplers.

I ordered a half size larger than my shoe size as suggested and it was a half size too large. With heavy socks it works. I didn't send them back because I think their sizes are not consistent and may come back too small as another person indicated. For the price I think it was still a good deal. It had a sharp spot on the inside near the top and I filed it with a nail file to make it smooth.
